Swimming Teacher (Female Preferred)
Position Objective
- Ensure the safety of all pool users through close supervision, accident prevention, and timely emergency response; simultaneously conduct swimming instruction and skill development for students/clients in accordance with the approved training program, contributing to physical health and life skills improvement.
Responsibilities
- Developing curriculum frameworks, lesson plans, and teaching swimming and physical education to students that align with the requirements of the school and grade level. Organize and participate in teacher training activities and personal development opportunities.
- Planning and coordinating various activities and events for students throughout the academic year, contributing to the development of physical education and sports programs within the school.
- Monitor the swimming pool area to detect and prevent accidents. Perform rescue techniques and provide first aid to drowning or injured individuals.
- Immediately report any incidents or violations to the supervisor.
- Inspect and ensure all safety equipment and first aid kits are in ready condition.
- Remind guests to comply with pool rules, maintaining order and safety.
- Assist in water quality checks and pool area hygiene (if assigned).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Position Requirements
- Subject knowledge: Deep understanding of fundamental concepts in the field of Makerspace and relevant. Subject matter knowledge and skills: Deep understanding of swimming techniques, rules, and safety procedures both in and out of water. Ability to teach various swimming styles and provide accurate guidance on techniques and healthy lifestyle related to swimming
- Lifesaving and First Aid knowledge: Trained and certified in lifesaving and first aid. Ability to ensure safety and be prepared to handle emergency situations or accidents that may occur during swimming.
- Teaching skills: Ability to effectively teach, create a safe learning environment, and motivate students to develop swimming skills. Ability to interact and build good relationships with students to enhance their confidence and passion for swimming.
- Leadership and management: Ability to organize and manage swimming lessons, monitor and evaluate students’ progress. Ability to plan and coordinate activities and events related to swimming.
- Communication and interaction: Strong communication skills and ability to interact well with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to build trustworthy relationships and support students in their learning and personal development.
- Care and dedication: Passionate and highly committed to the teaching of swimming. Willingness to accompany and support students in developing skills, motivation, and sportsmanship.
Abilities/ Skills
- Expertise in swimming techniques: Proficiency in various swimming styles and strokes, including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Ability to demonstrate and teach proper swimming techniques to students.
- Strong communication skills: Clear and effective communication to provide instructions, feedback, and guidance to students. Ability to explain swimming concepts and techniques in a concise and understandable manner.
- Knowledge of water safety: Understanding of water safety rules and protocols to ensure a safe swimming environment. Ability to educate students on water safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Teaching and instructional skills: Ability to develop lesson plans and create a structured and engaging learning environment. Skill in using teaching methodologies and strategies that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Patience and adaptability: Ability to work with students of various ages, skill levels, and learning paces. Patience in providing individualized attention and adapting teaching methods to meet the needs of different students.
- CPR and first aid certification: Training and certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid, enabling quick response and appropriate action in case of emergencies.
