House System
The final major piece of our Co-Curricular puzzle here at CIS is our House System – we just recently wrapped up the 6th year of our House System by awarding the Kraken House their 3rd House Cup!
The CIS House System is meant to increase school spirit by way of healthy competition in a team environment, while adding an increased feeling of belonging, a sense of tradition, all while underscoring the values of character education. Staff and Students are able to earn points based on many things, from sports to music to academic performance.
For those who are new to the CISS Community, the House System is a traditional feature of schools worldwide whereby the participating school is split into subunits known as “Houses”. Each school year features 10-12 House Challenges, which are activities that run during the school day throughout the school year, and also four House Days, which are school-wide events where the Houses compete against each other in a wide variety of activities. Our 4 CIS Houses are: Cerberus (Black), Phoenix (Red), Kraken (Blue), and Hydra (White).
